Moving to a new school can be scary...

New Kid on the Block

by Jodi Baldwin (2009, YouthLight, 14.95)
[See Discounts and Free Shipping option at bottom of page]

Transitioning to a new school can be very difficult for some elementary school-aged children. This helpful book will provide students with fresh insights and specific strategies to help them adjust, while validating their feelings of loss, loneliness, and fear. For each page of the story, there are recommended discussion questions and an advice letter from another child. The book also includes discussion questions, advice from peers, and recommended strategies. Color. Grades K-5. [11” x 8.5”...42 pages]

First Day Jitters

by Julie Danneberg (2000, Whispering Coyote Press, 6.95)
[See Discounts and Free Shipping option at bottom of page]

Sarah asks herself the usual first-day-at-a-new-school questions: Will they like me? Will I make friends? That is, until she builds up enough courage to face her fears and hit the halls. Everyone will relate to Sarah’s feelings and laugh out loud when they find that Sarah is the new teacher at the school. Color. Grades K-4. [8” x 10”...32 pages]

New Girl…and Me

by Jacqui Robbins (2006, Atheneum, 16.95/hardback)
[See Discounts and Free Shipping option at bottom of page]

There's a new girl in school. Her name is Shakeeta. Ms. Becky says to make her feel at home. But how in the world can Mia, one of Shakeeta's classmates, do that? Mia becomes fascinated with Shakeeta's pet iguana, and soon things begin to work out at school. Color. Grades PreK-2. [10” x 8”...32 pages]

Alexander, Who’s Not: (Do You Hear Me? I Mean It!) Going to Move

by Judith Viorst (1995, Aladdin, 6.99)
[See Discounts and Free Shipping option at bottom of page]

Who cares if his father has a new job a thousand miles away? Why should Alexander have to move away from everyone: best friend Paul; baby-sitter Rachel; the Baldwins’ dog, Swoozie; and Seymour the Cleaners? Alexander doesn’t want to leave his friends. By the author of Alexander & the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (5.99). Color. Grades K-3. [10” x 7.5”...32 pages]

Billy and the Big New School

by Laurence Anholt (1999, Whitman, 7.95)
[See Discounts and Free Shipping option at bottom of page]

Billy is excited to be starting at a new school, but he feels funny inside, too. What if he gets lost, or doesn’t make any friends? He wonders if he’s like the little sparrow he found in his yard that couldn’t fly yet. But one morning, the bird and Billy are ready to go into the big world. Color. Grades K-2. [10.5” x 9.5”...32 pages]

It's the first day of school and Froggy is more than a little nervous. When he tries to pour the milk on his breakfast bowl of flies, the carton falls out of his hands. Will he ever pull himself together in time to make it to the classroom? Color. Grades K-2. [9” x 7”...32 pages]

Free Shipping... Just order 25.00 or more! There is a 3.95 charge for orders under 25.00.

Order by 1:00 P.M. (Central Time)... We'll send a confirming e-mail, and try to ship the same day!

Tracking information... We pay an extra fee to the U.S. Postal Service and UPS so we can monitor each package we ship. If you would like that tracking information also sent to you, just let us know.

We're best known for two things... The way we pack (very carefully); and the way we ship (very quickly).

We take book safety seriously... Your books will be shrink-wrapped on a heavy piece of cardboard, and placed in a heavy-duty box or a padded mailing bag (depending on the size of your order). We also pack around the books with plenty of clean paper to keep the books from moving. And, when the order is ready to ship, we'll stamp the box with our traditional red "HANDLE WITH ENTHUSIASM" stamp.

Our customers tell us... That we are pretty good at what we do. And we ought to be! We've been dispatching books to all corners of the planet since 1978. We're one of those old-fashioned companies with real toll-free telephones—and real people to answer them. It will not be an accident that your books will arrive in perfect condition. We make sure they will.

Standard Shipping... 3.95 for orders under 25.00; free shipping for any order over 25.00 (including Purchase Orders).

Expedited Shipping... 4.80 for one or more DVDs; 6.95 for one book; 9.95 for two or more books; 12.95 for board games. We normally use Priority Mail (First Class) for home addresses; UPS for school addresses.
