This charming story presents a new way for young children to understand how to creatively embrace who they are, no matter what others think. Carla's lunch box is filled with odd delights like the Olive, Pickle and Green Bean Sandwich, the Banana-Cottage-Cheese Delight, and the unforgettable Chopped Liver, Potato Chips, and Cucumber Combo. To Carla, they are delicious and creative lunches, but her teasing classmates are unconvinced and abandon her at the lunch table to eat her bizarre sandwiches alone. Color. Grades K-3. [10” x 10”...32 pages]

Little raccoons, Hunter and Stripe, are best friends at school. They wear striped sweaters, read the same stories, and eat the same kind of lunch every day. But when Stripe arrives at school one day in a mischief-making mood and starts stirring up trouble in Mrs. Ringtail’s class, Hunter learns the consequences of peer pressure. Color. Grades K-3. [8.5” x 11”...32 pages]

Standing Up to Peer Pressure
: A Guide to Being True to You

by Jim Auer (2003, Abbey Press, 7.95)
[See Discounts and Free Shipping option at bottom of page]

Through simple language and engaging illustrations, this book explains the concept of peer pressure. It encourages a solid sense of self-identity or—"elf-identity" —and teaches kids how to say "No." Color. Grades K-3. [8” x 8”...32 pages]

This book is part of The Elf-Help Books for Kids Series.

Just the Way You Are

by Max Lucado (1999, Crossway, 15.99/hardback)
[See Discounts and Free Shipping option at bottom of page]

When a compassionate king decides to adopt five orphaned children, the townspeople begin to offer advice. The story clearly shows that not all kings want to be impressed. (slight religious overtones.) Color. Grades 1-5. [9” x 10”...32 pages]

Riding the Tiger

by Eve Bunting (2001, Clarion Books, 16.00/hardback)
[See Discounts and Free Shipping option at bottom of page]

Danny was proud when the tiger first came for him. Honored, even. He climbed up on its back and together they cruised the neighborhood. Soon, though, Danny realized it wasn’t respect people felt for him and the tiger; it was fear. This allegorical fantasy carries a powerful message about temptation, conformity, and the loss of control that comes when you ride a tiger—any kind of tiger. Color. Grades 1-4. [9.5” x 11”...32 pages]

If Everybody Did

by Jo Ann Stover (1989, BJU Press, 7.99)
[See Discounts and Free Shipping option at bottom of page]

What if everybody made mud tracks with their feet, spilled things on the floor, slammed doors, stomped and roared? The hilarious and terrible consequences are portrayed here. Your students will enjoy this precautionary tale with its concise, rhyming text, and great illustrations. Grades K-3. [10.5” x 7.5”...48 pages]

Finklehopper Frog

by Irene Livingston (2003, Tricycle Press, 7.95)
[See Discounts and Free Shipping option at bottom of page]

Finklehopper Frog is eager to jog—it's the hip thing to do! However, when fellow joggers laugh at his cherished, brightly colored jogging suit, Finkle's enthusiasm fades. Then one smart bunny helps Finkle discover that being part of the crowd doesn't mean casting aside your own froggy style. Catchy rhyme paired with bright illustrations has made this a read-aloud favorite. Color. Grades K-3. [11” x 9”...30 pages]
