Our "Monday Morning Ed-U-Upper" is very widely
read.
It's free, and goes all over the world every Monday
morning. You will find it short, filled with humor, great quotes, often
great motivational pieces, fresh ideas, and bits of this and that. The
goal: Entertain!
It's easy to get on, and
easy to get off this list.
This game was designed by a child psychologist to help children develop new and effective communication skills. Players pick a card from one of five categories—home, school, friends, community, and future—and draw a picture to make the others guess the word on the card. The constant interaction helps draw children out and encourages them to get to know each other better. For 2 or more players. Also available in Spanish. Ages 6 to 10.
Children rarely get the opportunity to talk about the things that they like or dislike about their school experience, but this non-competetive card game will get them chattering away. Designed to be played in the classroom or in a counseling session, the game contains four decks of cards: Yourself, Your Classmates, Your School, and Hot Topics. Each of the 120 cards asks thought-provoking questions—there are no right or wrong answers. For 2-6 players. Ages 6 to 14.
Children have lots to say about their families if anyone takes the time to ask the right questions or listen to the answers. This new card game can be played in a family setting or in counseling. The questions are divided into four categories: Yourself, Your Family, The Future and the World, and are provoking but non-threatening. Designed by a child psychologist, the game will enhance family communication and foster mutual understanding. Ages 7 and up.
If you work with children who have a variety of problems, this is one product you won't want to be without. Talking Tools includes 8 discussion-oriented games covering the topics of frustration management, expression of feelings, friendship, safety, cooperation, divorce, bereavement and self-concept. Two additional games are intended to help children understand the "cause and effect" of their behaviors and to help them cope with a hospital stay. Designed by a school psychologist, each game takes only 30 minutes to play. 2-4 players. Grades K-4.
