Fighting...

Hands Are Not for Hitting

by Martine Agassi (2009, Free Spirit, 11.95)
[See Discounts and Free Shipping option at bottom of page]

Simple words and warm, inviting illustrations reinforce two main themes: violence is never okay, and every child is capable of positive, loving actions. This book gives children a chance to learn, and also practice, some fun and constructive things their hands can do. They learn alternatives to hitting, how to talk about their feelings, and how to walk away from trouble. Color. Grades K-2. [9” x 9”...35 pages]

The Penguin Who Lost Her Cool
: A Story About Controlling Your Anger

by Maria Sobel (2000, Childswork/Childsplay, 12.50)
[See Discounts and Free Shipping option at bottom of page]

Penelope Penguin is a good student, a great diver, and a terrific friend. She just gets angry sometimes. Actually, she blows her cool frequently, several times a day. After a particularly unpleasant scene, Mrs. Fishswallow, Penelope's teacher, sends her to the office for fighting. Grades 1-5. [8.5” x 11”...59 pages]

Free Shipping... Just order 25.00 or more! There is a 3.95 charge for orders under 25.00.

Order by 1:00 P.M. (Central Time)... We'll send a confirming e-mail, and try to ship the same day!

Tracking information... We pay an extra fee to the U.S. Postal Service and UPS so we can monitor each package we ship. If you would like that tracking information also sent to you, just let us know.

We're best known for two things... The way we pack (very carefully); and the way we ship (very quickly).

We take book safety seriously... Your books will be shrink-wrapped on a heavy piece of cardboard, and placed in a heavy-duty box or a padded mailing bag (depending on the size of your order). We also pack around the books with plenty of clean paper to keep the books from moving. And, when the order is ready to ship, we'll stamp the box with our traditional red "HANDLE WITH ENTHUSIASM" stamp.

Our customers tell us... That we are pretty good at what we do. And we ought to be! We've been dispatching books to all corners of the planet since 1978. We're one of those old-fashioned companies with real toll-free telephones—and real people to answer them. It will not be an accident that your books will arrive in perfect condition. We make sure they will.

Standard Shipping... 3.95 for orders under 25.00; free shipping for any order over 25.00 (including Purchase Orders).

Expedited Shipping... 4.80 for one or more DVDs; 6.95 for one book; 9.95 for two or more books; 12.95 for board games. We normally use Priority Mail (First Class) for home addresses; UPS for school addresses.
