Adjustment problems of mixed heritage children...

Black Is Brown Is Tan

by Arnold Adoff (2004, HarperTrophy, 6.99)

Momma is the color of chocolate milk and coffee pumpkin pie. Daddy is white, lighter than brown, but his face turns tomato red when he puffs and yells the children into bed. Children and grandparents and aunts and uncles are all the colors of the rainbow, and the whole family is filled to overflowing with love. Color. Grades K-3. [8.5” x 11”...32 pages]

For International Day at school, Pablo wants to bring something that reflects the cultures of both his parents. He wants to pick something from the bakery his parents own, but what? Color. Grades K-5. [9.5” x 9.5”...32 pages]

Black, White, Just Right!

by Marguerite Davol (1993, Whitman, 16.99/hardback)
[See Discounts and Free Shipping option at bottom of page]

A little girl likes to take ballet lessons with Mama and dance to rap music with Papa. The fact that her mother is African-American and her father is white is just one of the many interesting things that make this little girl and her family "just right." Color. Grades 1-3. [8” x 9”...32 pages]

You Be Me, I'll Be You

by Pili Mandelbaum (1993, Kane/Miller, 7.95)
[See Discounts and Free Shipping option at bottom of page]

Anna, the interracial child of a white father and black mother, explores questions and yearnings she has about her identity by "switching" skin colors with her father. With wit, compassion and a very light and non-didactic hand, this book examines issues of concern not only to interracial children, but to all children who have ever worried about their differences. Color. Grades K-3. [9.5” x 8.5”...32 pages]

Free Shipping... Just order 25.00 or more! There is a 3.95 charge for orders under 25.00.

Order by 1:00 P.M. (Central Time)... We'll send a confirming e-mail, and try to ship the same day!

Tracking information... We pay an extra fee to the U.S. Postal Service and UPS so we can monitor each package we ship. If you would like that tracking information also sent to you, just let us know.

We're best known for two things... The way we pack (very carefully); and the way we ship (very quickly).

We take book safety seriously... Your books will be shrink-wrapped on a heavy piece of cardboard, and placed in a heavy-duty box or a padded mailing bag (depending on the size of your order). We also pack around the books with plenty of clean paper to keep the books from moving. And, when the order is ready to ship, we'll stamp the box with our traditional red "HANDLE WITH ENTHUSIASM" stamp.

Our customers tell us... That we are pretty good at what we do. And we ought to be! We've been dispatching books to all corners of the planet since 1978. We're one of those old-fashioned companies with real toll-free telephones—and real people to answer them. It will not be an accident that your books will arrive in perfect condition. We make sure they will.

Standard Shipping... 3.95 for orders under 25.00; free shipping for any order over 25.00 (including Purchase Orders).

Expedited Shipping... 4.80 for one or more DVDs; 6.95 for one book; 9.95 for two or more books; 12.95 for board games. We normally use Priority Mail (First Class) for home addresses; UPS for school addresses.
