Applications are open now for plots in the City of Flagstaff’s community gardens and will remain open until March 31 or all spaces are claimed.

Returning gardeners will be given priority to renew their plots. New applicants who do not have access to growing space at home or who qualify for SNAP benefits will be given priority for remaining available plots. Any plots left will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, and aspiring new gardeners are encouraged to apply early.

Plots are available at the Bonito Community Garden on W. Elm Ave., the Hal Jensen Community Garden on N. Izabel St. and the Historic Southside Community Garden on S. O’Leary Street. The annual registration fee for a plot is $65, but full or half-scholarships are available for gardeners who express a need in their application. Registration fees fund water expenses, infrastructure improvements and resources for gardeners.
