In 1967, Congress created the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) as a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is “to support public media stations, which provide educational and cultural programming to the public.
The CPB includes Public Broadcast System (PBS) and National Public Radio (NPR). Both institutions provide investigative journalism across the political spectrum in a fair and just manner, information vital to our democracy. Any funding loss for your regional NPR/PBS station would directly affect your knowing what’s happening in your community, state and nation.
