A total of 21 softball players, 19 baseball players and three tennis players earned all-region or all-section honors from the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) for their performances during the spring season.
Softball
Earning another Grand Canyon Region title with a perfect 12-0 record against region opponents and landing the No. 1 seed in the 4A Conference state tournament, the Coconino Panthers had eight different players named to the all-region team in addition to three individual awards.
Manager Kimberly Dennis was honored as coach of the year in the Grand Canyon Region, while senior Destiny Villas was named Region Defensive Player of the Year and senior Kaitlyn Tso was awarded Region Player of the Year as the Panthers captured three of the four individual awards.
Both Tso, as a pitcher, and Villas, as a catcher, were also placed on the all-region first team, alongside seniors Danica Kern, Sophie Monsman and Aryanna Dominguez as position players. Senior position player Mia Pozar was named to the second team, with freshmen Hailey Householder and Emma Kennelly landed on the honorable mentions list.
The Flagstaff Eagles had seven players honored within the Grand Canyon Region. Senior pitcher Cailee Culwell, senior position player Hallie Watkins, junior position player Ryleigh Alex and sophomore position player Sophia Garcia were all named first team.
Sophomores Tatum Alex and Mia Garcia were named to the second team, as a pitcher and position player respectively, with junior Mayla Speer named an honorable mention.
Within the North Region of the 2A Conference, the Northland Prep Spartans had six players honored, led by first-team honoree senior position player Audre Wilson.
On the second team, sophomore pitcher Ryliegh LaFave and junior position player Hayden Massey represented the Spartans. Junior Lauren Frate, junior Isabel Stoffers and sophomore Alana Begay Clark were all named honorable mentions to round out the Northland Prep awardees.
Baseball
In the 4A Conference Grand Canyon Region, the Flagstaff Eagles placed seven players on the trio of teams, with sophomore pitcher Connor Iniguez and junior position player Will Carpenter leading the way on the first team.
Junior position players Cullen Callander and Christian Welker earned second-team all-region spots, while sophomore Jace Adams, junior Brody Johnson and senior Payne Lowry were all honorable mentions.
For Coconino, senior Corbin Derr was placed on the first team as a position player, with senior pitcher Ezra Merrell, junior position player Steven Stone and senior position player Ty Sevier all named to the second team. Juniors Fitz Guinan and Jake Hanley rounded out the Panthers honorees with honorable mentions.
In the 2A Conference North Region, the Northland Prep Spartans had a total of six players honored. Junior Blayden Cosper was named all-region first team as a position player, followed by senior catcher Michael Cary and freshman position player Wyatt Massey on the second team. Freshman Tyler Cary, junior Colson Skersick and freshman Dylan Stoffers were all awarded honorable mention.
Girls tennis
After finishing the regular season with a perfect 9-0 record and a Division III, Section VI title, a trio of Northland Prep Spartans were honored by the AIA.
The doubles pairing of senior Amelia Raab and sophomore Grace Daab were named co-doubles players of the year in the section, while sophomore Grace Kim was named co-singles player of the year for the section.
