Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) announced Wednesday, Sept. 4, that David Thornton, MD, joined its primary care office in Flagstaff and is now accepting patients.

Thornton has over eight years of healthcare experience.

He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University and his undergraduate in science from the University of Columbia. Thornton then completed four years of general surgery residency at the Saint Barnabas Medical Center and at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He also completed a family medicine residency at AdventHealth.

According to the announcement, Thornton, who is board-certified with the American Board of Family Medicine, has a goal of providing “compassionate, comprehensive care that promotes long-term wellness and enhances quality of life for each patient.�

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Thornton to our Flagstaff primary care practice,� said NAH Medical Group President Pasquale Bernardi, MD, in the announcement. “He is a trusted, talented healthcare provider who brings extensive expertise in comprehensive primary care.�

NAH’s Flagstaff primary care office takes a multidisciplinary approach to provide care in a variety of areas, according to the announcement. It employs physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners in order to do so.
