The FBI is offering a reward of up to $75,000 for information about the suspicious death of Emily Pike, a 14-year-old teenager from the San Carlos Apache Tribe whose remains were discovered near Globe in February.

Pike’s death is being investigated by the FBI, the Gila County Sheriff’s Office, the San Carlos Apache Tribal Police Department and the Mesa Police Department.

Pike ran away from a group home in Mesa and was reported missing on Jan. 27 of this year. Her body was found approximately two weeks later.

In addition to the reward offered by the FBI, the San Carlos Apache Tribe has offered a reward of up to $75,000 for information leading to the identification of the individual or individuals responsible for Pike’s death.

Pike’s case has drawn renewed attention to the ongoing crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous people, particularly women. Following Pike’s death, the Arizona Legislature renamed a bill to create a new emergency alert system for missing Indigenous persons, titling it That bill passed the Arizona House last week -- though amendments to the bill have shifted its focus away from Indigenous communities, as the Arizona Mirror previously .

Anyone who believes they have verifiable information about the circumstances of Pike’s death or the perpetrators may contact the FBI's Phoenix Field Office at (623) 466-1999 or submit a tip online at .
