June 6 MLB picks today: Yankees -1.5 () vs. White Sox

The Yankees are in the midst of a nice run. They’ve won six of their last nine, taking consecutive series from the Padres, Mariners, and Dodgers.

They’re back in the Bronx against a White Sox and if there’s a concern for potential Yankees-backers, it’s the uncertainty surrounding Aaron Judge’s (toe) availability.

That said, we’re backing New York either way in our June 6 MLB picks.

New York will likely go with Clarke Schmidt on the mound. He posted a solid 3.52 ERA in 30.2 May innings and is coming off 5.2 scoreless against the Mariners.

Another factor involved in this spot is the poor play of the White Sox, including starting pitcher Lucas Giolito.

The White Sox own a -47 run differential while Giolito sported a 1.34 WHIP in the month of May. That includes seven home runs served up across 33.2 frames.

MLB player props today: Best bets include Giancarlo Stanton and Shohei Ohtani props

Shohei Ohtani props: 2+ bases (), to hit a home run ()

Shohei Ohtani is tied for third in baseball with 28 extra-base hits and we think he can record multiple bases Tuesday for a third straight game.

He’ll step in the box against Cubs right-hander Hayden Wesneski, whose poor surface-level numbers (4.81 ERA, 1.28 WHIP) are supported by his underlying batted-ball metrics.

Ohtani will have the platoon advantage against Wesneski, who struggles against left-handed hitters (1.003 OPS, 7 HR in 79 at-bats). Meanwhile, 12 of Ohtani’s 15 homers are against right-handed pitching.

For bettors in the market for a plus-money wager, Ohtani going yard is a reasonable one to consider. Ohtani is batting .360 with three homers across his last 25 at-bats.

Giancarlo Stanton props: 2+ total bases ()

Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton returned over the weekend against Los Angeles Dodgers and recorded multiple bases in each game, including a home run on Friday.

On Tuesday, he faces White Sox pitcher Lucas Giolito, against whom he is 1-for-4 with a home run and four RBI.

Additionally, Giolito has struggled in three of his last four starts, increasing his ERA from 3.59 to 4.08 in the span.

Stanton is back home in the bandbox that is Yankee Stadium, and we’ll take our chances at plus-money that he can connect for an extra-base hit or a couple of singles.

Freddie Freeman props: To record an RBI ()

Dodgers star Freddie Freeman is raking of late, batting .340 across his last 47 at-bats. He has success against Reds starter Luke Weaver (4-for-13) and owns a .944 career OPS at Great American Ballpark.

Sportsbooks are offering plus-money odds on Freeman driving in a run, partially due to the fact that he bats so high in the lineup.

We still have faith in Freeman putting a tally on the scoreboard in a matchup pegged with an Over/Under of 10.5 runs.

Ronald Acuña props: To record an RBI ()

The Mets and Braves make for exciting baseball when they meet, especially in Atlanta. Look for Acuña to be in the center of the action Tuesday in a game with an O/U of 10 runs.

Acuña is particularly sharp at the dish right now, batting .364 across his last 22 at-bats. He handles Mets starter Carlos Carrasco well with three hits  two doubles and a homer  in eight at-bats.

Similar to our Freeman pick, we’re relying on Braves hitters to create traffic on the basepaths in front of Acuña.

The Braves own the league’s third-best OPS (.791), so we’re not expecting this game to finish with a tidy scoreboard.
