The Northern Arizona women's diving team competed in the 3-meter event on the first day of the NCAA Zone E Championships on Monday in Federal Way, Washington.
In the preliminary round, Northern Arizona diver Victoria Knapp, who is the 2025 WAC 1- and 3-meter champion, scored 273.40 to qualify for the finals. The final featured 18 divers. Knapp scored 534.55 points and placed 17th, with only the top eight divers earning a spot in the national championships.
Margaret Wesche scored 270.35 in the prelims, missing a finals spot by 0.05 points. Grace Wesche posted a score of 255.15 for 27th place, while Mackenna Stocker followed in 28th with 253.70 for the Lumberjacks.
"They all did great in the prelims -- they were very consistent with their dives and were hunting for it," Lumberjacks head coach Nikki Kelsey said. "Maggie and Grace were among the top 8�10 for a few rounds, which was great to see... The girls were solid despite a tough meet, and we are looking forward to [Tuesday]."
On the second day, Northern Arizona competed in the platform event.
A total of 41 divers participated in the preliminary round, with the top 18 advancing to the finals. No one from Northern Arizona advanced to the finals.
Wesche was the highest-scoring Lumberjack, finishing 25th with 201.40 points. Stocker followed closely in 26th place with a score of 194.75. Wesche placed 35th with 171.95 points, while Catalina Devia finished 36th with 171.25.
The championships concluded on Wednesday after the 1-meter board dive.
Women’s tennis
Northern Arizona extended its win streak to four straight with a 5-2 victory at home over the Richmond Spiders on Tuesday.
Northern Arizona’s duo of Andrea Noguera and Ruslana Kovalenko grabbed a dominant 6-1 win at the No. 3 slot over the Spiders pairing of Claire Le Du and Lainey O'Neil. Lumberjacks Daryna Shoshyna and Elen Jantacova battled for the 7-5 victory at the No. 2 spot, knocking down Richmond's pairing of Sofia Barbulescu and Elizabeth Novak.
In singles play, Shosyhna quickly proved her dominance with the 6-0, 6-0 sweep at the No. 2 spot. Janatacova then dropped her match at the No. 4 spot 6-0, 6-2. Richmond tied the match at the No. 5 spot as Novak earned back-to-back 6-2 victories over Kovalenko.
Patrycja Niewiadomska put the Lumberjacks in the lead with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Barbulescu and Andrea Noguera clinched the win at the No. 3 court, grabbing the three-set victory at 6-1, 4-6, 6-3. Leontina Stojanovic added the cushion point for the Lumberjacks at the No. 6, in a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 final.
Northern Arizona is scheduled to play at Idaho on Saturday.
