Erika Tsouras, artist and owner of Meadowlark Art Studio, taught art in Flagstaff schools for 10 years before opening her studio on April 4 of this year.
The first half of the Meadowlark Art Studio is a gallery showcasing owner Erika Tsouras wide variety of art, and the back half is a studio and classroom space where she will teach and create.
Erika Tsouras' work crosses a variety of boundaries, such as painting on wood blocks by following the natural grain of the wood with watercolor -- creating beautiful landscapes in the originally unseen grains.
As shown in her piece "Stormrise," Erika Tsouras says painting on wood began as a meditation practice. “If I was feeling joy, or anxiety or anything really, this was a simple way to sit down with a small piece of wood and let what is in my subconscious come forward.

Meadowlark Art Studio is just getting started. Nestled in the heart of downtown Flagstaff with large windows facing the courthouse, you can find artist and owner Erika Tsouras hard at work. In a former Masonic Temple office space, the original 1919 charm of the building oozes through the studio space, instantly inspiring creativity.

Bursting with natural light, pops of yellow and '70s-inspired touches scattered between the art decorating the walls, Meadowlark Studio is an open invitation to create. The first half of the studio is a gallery showcasing Tsouras wide variety of art, and the back half is a studio and classroom space where Tsouras will teach and create.
