Ask The Vet: The risks and benefits of Librela

Ask the Vet

Q: My old dog has been getting a pain injection called Librela monthly. I know this is a newer drug, but I just read that there have been some negative side effects from this drug! Any advice?

A: Librela, a monoclonal antibody therapy for canine osteoarthritis, offers a promising approach to pain management. However, like any medication, it carries potential risks and side effects. While clinical trials have shown its efficacy and safety, post-market reports have raised concerns about certain adverse events.
