Arizona-based internet provider Wecom Fiber announced a partnership with the City of Flagstaff on Friday intended to bring high-speed broadband internet to homes and businesses.
The Flagstaff City Council voted to award a $2 million grant that will fund Wecom's design and construction of a fiber municipal network connecting approximately 9 miles of Flagstaff that includes 34 city facilities including libraries, fire stations, recreation center and Flagstaff City Hall among others. Wecom will also utilize private funding to build a new fiber broadband network to cover nearly all of Flagstaff.
