February continued Flagstaff's dry winter, ranking as one of the warmest on record, but snow is in the forecast this week

Snow Day

Rhea Yu, 10, plays happily in the snow outside the Joe C. Montoya Community and Senior Center in February.

Not only did February fail to provide a respite from one of Flagstaff’s driest winters in history, but it also ended up being one of the warmest Februarys of all-time.

Finishing with an average maximum temperature of 53.9 degrees, 2025’s February trails only 2015’s 55.2 degrees for the warmest on record. Just four Februarys on record have finished with an average high at 53 degrees or more in the Flagstaff area, as 2016 ranks just behind 2025 at 53.5 degrees and 1947 was 53.2 degrees.
