Flagstaff beach volleyball took down Valley Christian, 4-1, in the first round of Division II state tournament at Flagstaff Athletic Club - East on Monday.
Flagstaff’s twos pairing of Lillian Hartman and Brynn Hagerman secured the victory for the No. 4-seeded Eagles with a 21-6, 21-12 win over the 13th-seeded Trojans. Hartman and Hagerman’s teamwork was on full display. Their shared stamina helped them stay focused on the long rallies in the first set. With well-timed kills and strategic ball placement, the pair put up several points early in the first set.
