Staff at NACASA have been seeing an increase in recent years of northern Arizonans seeking resources after incidents of sexual assault or domestic violence.

NACASA, which stands for Northern Arizona Care and Services After Assault,  provides medical forensic exams to survivors of sexual assault or domestic violence (specifically strangulation) across Coconino, Apache and Navajo counties. It started in 2002 and, according to program manager Addie Tennant, is the only provider of such exams in the region it serves.
