Flagstaff police officers arrested a man who was threatening people with a knife at the E. Cedar Ave. Safeway on the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 4.
According to Sgt. Jerry Rintala, public information officer for the Flagstaff Police Department, dispatchers received a call shortly after 8 p.m. alerting them to a man wielding a knife in the store. Witnesses later told officers that the suspect, eventually identified as 18-year-old Jose F. Paredes, had chased another man around the store while yelling that he was going to kill him.
