NICOLE’S IMPOSSIBLY POSSIBLE IDEAS

Nicole's Impossibly Possible Ideas: Impossible patience

According to the US National Weather Service, during its meteorological winter, Dec. 1 to Feb. 28, Flagstaff received only 8.5 inches of snow compared to the average of 58.7 inches, gives us a deficit of 50.2 inches. But, there is always March.

My son Max promised that we would not die of thirst because it always snows in March. Others assured me that it’s possible the meteorological winter has moved ahead by a month, like daylight savings on steroids. And, there it was in the forecast 6-8 inches of snow predicted for March 6.

Nicole Walker is the author of the forthcoming books "How to Plant a Billion Trees" and "Writing the Hard Stuff." She teaches at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. The words here are her own and do not necessarily reflect those of her employer.
