Flagstaff baseball slides into 4A state tournament after 6-1 play-in win over Douglas

The 15th-seeded Flagstaff baseball team hosted a 4A Conference play-in game on Wednesday and won over No. 18-seeded Douglas, 6-1, punching a ticket to the state tournament.

Going into the fourth inning, the teams were tied 1-all until an RBI triple by Tobyn Phillips tilted the score in the host's favor. Brody Johnson was on second base and Connor Iniguez was on first, and they both sprinted home while the Douglas outfielders scrambled to get control of the ball.
